Overview:
During the installation of QNE Optimum, the QNE Licensing System (QLS) manages all software licenses on a central server. QLS allows users to monitor active licenses and connected users. If you need to move your license to a new server, you must first deactivate the product key from the old server to avoid licensing conflicts.
Scenario:
You are setting up a new server to replace the old one, but the product key cannot be applied to the new server because it is still registered to the old system. To resolve this, you must deactivate the product key before reactivating it on the new server.
Procedure:
Option 1: Deactivate via QNE Licensing System (QLS)
Search for QLS on the server. In the search results, click on the QLS App or select Open to launch the QLS Panel.
- Click the Licenses button to access the Manage Licenses window.
- Highlight/Select the Database, click Licenses, then choose Transfer Licenses Out to Cloud.
- In the Transfer License Out window, enter the Reason and Requested By fields, then click Transfer License Out to complete the process.
- A confirmation message will appear, indicating successful deactivation.
Option 2: Deactivate via QNE Optimum
Log in to QNE Optimum using an Admin Account.
Navigate to File > Registration.
- In the Registration window, click Transfer Out, then follow the same procedure as Option 1, Steps 4 & 5.
Application:
This process is essential when upgrading or replacing servers to ensure seamless license migration. For example, if a company upgrades its infrastructure and installs QNE Optimum on a new server, following this procedure will allow them to transfer their license without interruptions.
