How to Set Database Backup Warning

Modified on Fri, Mar 28 at 3:57 PM

Overview:

Ensuring regular database backups is crucial for data security and system integrity. To prevent missed

backups, the system provides a database backup warning that prompts users when a backup has not been
performed for a specified number of days.

Scenario:

To avoid missing database backups, users can enable the backup reminder, which will prompt a warning

message when logging into the system if a backup has not been made within the defined period.

Solution:

  1. Navigate to System Options:

    • Go to Maintenance > System Options > System Tab in the system.

  2. Enable Backup Reminder:
    • Locate the 'Backup Reminder' option.

    • Tick the checkbox to activate the reminder feature

    • Enter the number of days for the reminder prompt in the 'Prompt Backup Reminder message if
last backup is more than' field.

    • Click Save to apply the changes.

  3. Login to View Backup Reminder:
    • Once set, the system will display a backup reminder message upon login if the last backup
exceeds the defined number of days.

Application:

This feature applies to businesses and organizations using an accounting system that requires regular database
backups. It serves as a proactive measure to maintain data security and system reliability.
