Overview:
Enabling a user password policy in QNE Software is an essential step to enhancing the security of your company’s data. A well-defined password policy ensures that all users are adhering to strong password practices, reducing the risk of unauthorized access. This feature allows administrators to enforce specific password rules, such as minimum length, and complexity, to maintain secure user authentication across the system.
Scenario:
Imagine you are the administrator of a medium-sized business using QNE Software for managing your accounts. You’ve noticed that user accounts have weak passwords, some of which could be easily guessed or hacked. To address this concern, you decide to implement a password policy that requires users to create stronger passwords.
Procedure:
Access the System Options Setting:
To enable Password Policy Control, log in to the system using an admin account. Navigate to Maintenance > System Options > System Tab, and then check the box for Enable Password Policy Control.
- Enable the Password Policy and set the password length:
To view the Default Password Policy click Show QNE Default Password Policy
To activate the policy, check the Enable Password Policy Control box. Once enabled, you can set the minimum and maximum password length.
- Save the Changes:
After configuring the password policy according to your preferences, click Save to apply the changes
Application:
Your small business has been experiencing a few minor security concerns, with some users adopting easy-to-guess passwords. After enabling a password policy that enforces password complexity, you ensure that all users are prompted to create more secure passwords.
