Overview:
Upgrading your QNE Optimum server ensures you are running the latest Version Release (Build), complete with new features, enhancements, and important fixes. This process is intended for system administrators or IT staff responsible for maintaining QNE installations.
The upgrade has two main parts:
- Installing the new System Upgrader.
- Upgrading your databases to match the upgraded system build.
Performing a system upgrade helps maintain software stability, compatibility, and compliance with the latest regulations.
Scenario:
Your company has received notification that a new QNE Optimum Version Release (e.g., Build 2025.1.6.2) is available. To apply bug fixes and ensure all users are aligned on the same version, your IT administrator must upgrade the QNE Optimum server and upgrade all company databases to the new Version Release before employees resume work the next day.
Procedure:
Part 1: Install the System Upgrader
- Browse to the folder where you saved the System Upgrader file, then double-click the setup file (e.g., Setup_2025.1.6.2_OfficialPH).
- In the Setup Wizard window, click Next to continue.
- Select I accept the agreement, then click Next.
- Confirm the installation folder. If your QNE Optimum system is installed in a different directory, click Browse and select the correct folder. Click Next.
- Tick QNE Business Solutions only, then click Next.
- Continue clicking Next, then click Install.
- When installation is complete, click Finish.
Part 2: Upgrade the Database(s)
- Ensure that all users are logged out of QNE Optimum.
- Verify that the System Version Release (Build) matches the upgrader file (e.g., Build 2025.1.6.2).
- Log in to your database/company. The Database Upgrade prompt will appear.
- Click Backup Now(recommended).
- If your database is hosted on QNE Cloud, skip the backup and click Upgrade.
- If your database is hosted on QNE Cloud, skip the backup and click Upgrade.
- In the Database Backup Wizard, click Next.
- Enter or browse to the folder where you want to save the backup, then click Backup.
- Once the backup is complete, proceed with the Upgrade.
- After the upgrade finishes, QNE Optimum will log you in to the database automatically.
⚠ Important Note:
If your QNE Optimum installation has more than one database, you must upgrade each database one at a time. Repeat the upgrade steps for every database until all are upgraded to the latest Version Release (Build).
