Understanding Subscription Upgrades

Upgrading your QNE subscription is a seamless process that takes effect immediately. Below are answers to common questions regarding upgrade policies, billing, and payment calculations.


Q: When can I upgrade my subscription?

A: Yes, you can upgrade your subscription at any time.

  • The changes take effect immediately upon payment.


Q: What happens if I upgrade while I have more than 30 days remaining?

A: The upgrade cost will be prorated based on the remaining days in your current plan.

  • Your new plan starts immediately, but your billing cycle remains unchanged (your original expiry date stays the same).

    Example:

    • Current Plan: Essential (RM 100/month)

    • Upgrading to: Pro (RM 130/month) with 90 days left

    • Price difference: RM 30/month

    • Prorated cost for 90 days: (RM 30 ÷ 30) × 90 = RM 90

    • Total payment due immediately: RM 90

    • New plan takes effect immediately; same expiry date applies.


Q: What happens if I upgrade with 30 days or less remaining?

A: The upgrade cost will be prorated, and you will also be charged immediately for a full renewal period under the new plan.

               

            Example (Annual Subscription):

                    •    Current Plan: Essential (RM 1,200/year)

                    •    Upgrading to: Pro (RM 1,560/year) with 15 days left

                    •    Price difference: RM 360/year

                    •    Prorated cost for 15 days: (RM 360 ÷ 365) × 15 = RM 14.79

                    •    Full yearly renewal under the new plan: RM 1,560

                    •    Total payment due immediately: RM 1,574.79 (RM 14.79 + RM 1,560)

                    •    New plan takes effect immediately; renewed for another full year.


            Example (Monthly Subscription):

                    •    Current Plan: Essential (RM 100/month)

                    •    Upgrading to: Pro (RM 130/month) with 10 days left

                    •    Prorated cost for 10 days: (RM 30 ÷ 30) × 10 = RM 10

                    •    Full renewal under the new plan: RM 130

                    •    Total payment due immediately: RM 140 (RM 10 + RM 130)

                    •    New plan takes effect immediately; renewed for another month.


Q: When does the upgraded plan take effect?

A: The upgraded plan starts immediately once the payment is processed.


Q: Will my billing date change after upgrading?

A: It depends on when you upgrade.

  • If you upgrade with more than 30 days left, your billing date stays the same as your original expiry date.

  • If you upgrade with 30 days or less left, your billing resets based on the new plan’s renewal period.


Q: Will I be charged again when my renewal date arrives?

A: Your next billing date depends on when you upgraded.

  • If you upgraded with more than 30 days left, you will be billed for renewal on your original expiry date.

  • If you upgraded with 30 days or less left, your renewal was already processed, and your next billing date will be one full cycle later.


Q: Can I revert to my old plan after upgrading?

A: No, once an upgrade is processed, it cannot be reversed.

  • However, you can downgrade or switch plans at the next renewal.
